Virginia Beach KOAMeet Your Host Managers of KOA Kampgrounds come from all walks of life: some are born into 'campground families;' some arrive on campgrounds as a profession after being on campgrounds for vacations; and others just a have knack for knowing what's needed in any situation they find themselves in. Gary Andelin, manager of Virginia Beach KOA Kampground, was in the oil business for many years. He then became a Work Kamper at the Sugarloaf Key/Key West, Florida KOA. Soon, he was promoted to the Assistant Manager on that campground. Predictably, he was then promoted again to General Manager of the Kissimmee/Orlando, Florida KOA. And now he's the General Manager of the Virginia Beach KOA. "No matter what type of kamping experience you are looking for, we have it here at the Virginia Beach KOA. Our sites range all the way from rustic kamping to 50 amp drive-thru sites. And our activities run the gamut from the jumping pillow, our new waterslide and Summershiner-directed activities for the kids, to a beach shuttle (for a fee) that runs until 2:00 a.m. for the adults. I think our staff and our campers are great people who have the same goals - to have fun experiences they'll remember for a long, long time. Gary enjoys the sun on and off the campground.
